Employee Compensation Policy is issued to indemnify the employer in respect of the liabilities arising on account of legal liability arising on the part of the employer to provide compensation to the affected worker for Death, bodily injury (both temporary and permanent) arising out of and in the course of employment under the following Acts-
a. Workmen’s Compensation Act 1923
b. Fatal Accidents Act 1855
c. Under Common Law
WC policy provides cover in respect of payment of all the legal costs and expenses incurred with the insurance company’s consent. The policy can also be extended to cover medical expenses following such accidental death/injury to the employee arising out of and in the course of employment.
WC policy provides indemnity to the insured (employer) in respect of legal liability towards employees / workmen arising during the course of employment on account of:-

Bodily injury both temporary and permanent in nature.
WC coverage is provided in 2 forms i.e. vide Table A & Table B as under:-
Table A – Under this table, coverage is provided in respect of employees / workmen as per following Acts:-

The Workmen's Compensation Act, 1923 and subsequent amendments of the said Act prior to the date of issue of the Policy.

The Fatal Accidents Act, 1855, and,
-
Common Law.
This table provides insurance coverage in respect of the any class of employee irrespective of whether or not the employee comes within the purview of the definition of the employee as per Workmen’s Compensation Act 1923.
Table B – This table covers legal liability of the employees falling under following Act:-

This table cannot be issued to the employees falling within the purview of The Workmen's Compensation Act, 1923.
Premium rate chargeable under the policy will depend on the trade classification of the employer based on the hazard levels of trade.
