Eligibility

  • 01.Who can buy

    Any individual named in the schedule who owns a dog or cat and resides with them.

  • 02. Who Can Be Insured

    Any pet dog or cat owned by the individual named in the Policy Schedule, residing with the owner at the same address.

  • 03. Sum Insured

    From ₹10,000 up to ₹2,00,000.

  • 04. Policy Type

    Available on Individual & Group basis.

  • 05. Policy Period

    Up to 3 years.

  • 06. Max Weight

    50 Kg.

  • 06. Category

    Small, Medium, Large, Giant breeds.

  • 06. Entry age

    From 3 months onwards.

  • 06. Exit age

    Up to 10 years (breed specific).

Identification

Pet must be listed with photo or microchip, must live with the insured at the policy address, annual check-ups and vaccinations (rabies, distemper, hepatitis, adenovirus, leptospirosis, parainfluenza, coronavirus, parvovirus).

Coverage Options

1. Death Due to Accident

Covered:

Provides a lump sum payment of the sum insured (up to the declared pet value) in case the insured pet dies due to an accident during the policy period.

Not Covered:

Ending life due to aggression, intentional slaughter, age limits for older breeds.

2. Death Due to Illness

Covered:

Covers death arising from illness, payout as per the sum insured specified in your policy.

Not Covered:

Illnesses where required vaccinations weren’t taken, kidney-failure deaths in older breeds (breed/age rules apply).

3. Hospitalisation Expenses

Covered:

Reasonable and customary in-patient treatment in a veterinary hospital, minimum 24-hour admission.

Not Covered:

Not payable if claimed under OPD, terminal diseases excluded.

4. Specific Illness Cover

Covered:

In-patient treatment for defined illnesses

Not Covered:

Cannot be taken together with Hospitalisation cover.

Note:

The Insured can either opt Hospitalisation Expenses or Specific Illness cover and not both.

1. Terminal Disease Expenses

Covered:

Lump sum payout for conditions like cancer, kidney failure, coagulation disorders, cardiac dysfunctions, canine/feline distemper, leukaemia, leptospirosis.

Not Covered:

Conditions outside the listed illnesses.

2. Surgical Expenses

Covered:

Covers surgeries due to accidents or illnesses, plus pre- and post-operative care (7 days prior, 15 days post). Includes fractures even without surgery.

Not Covered:

Non-necessary/excluded surgeries.

3. Long Term Care

Covered:

Lump sum benefit for chronic illnesses (epilepsy, diabetes, thyroid dysfunction, pancreatitis, glaucoma, inflammatory bowel disease, etc.). Only once in a pet’s lifetime.

Not Covered:

For Giant breeds >4 years and others >7 years unless renewed without break.

4. OPD Expenses

Covered:

Outpatient treatments for common conditions like gastritis, conjunctivitis, respiratory infections, poisoning, colitis, ear/eye infections.

Not Covered:

Cases needing 24+ hour hospitalisation, online/phone consults.

5. Pregnancy & Related Complications

Covered:

Emergency caesarean, complications like milk fever, haemorrhage, mastitis.

Not Covered:

Planned procedures; fertility/AI; routine pre-natal tests; commercial breeding.

6. Insect/Vector-Borne Diseases

Covered:

hospitalization for illnesses like Babesiosis, Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichiosis, Heartworm disease (up to 50% of sum insured).

Not Covered:

Unlisted vector diseases.

7. Dental Treatment

Covered:

For Dental illnesses like abscesses, gingivitis, periodontal disease (requires annual vet check-ups. Up to 25% of base Sum Insured).

Not Covered:

Pre-existing dental issues, routine cleaning/chews/rinses, retained milk teeth/malocclusion, tartar removal.

8. Recovery Care

Covered:

Alternative therapies such as hydrotherapy, physiotherapy, acupuncture, herbal/homeopathy (linked to a covered illness/injury).

Not Covered:

Stand-alone therapy when the base event isn’t covered.

9. Health Check-Up

Covered:

Checkup can be availed post every 3 years completion.

Not Covered:

Before meeting the renewal/no-claim condition.

10. Wellness Services

Covered:

Benefits like pharmacy support, daycare, vet-on-call, grooming, vaccinations (core recommended vaccines).

Not Covered:

Anything beyond scheduled limits.

11. Cremation Costs

Covered:

For cremation, burial, or carcass disposal after insured death.

Not Covered:

If the underlying death claim isn’t admissible.

12. Lost/Stolen Pets

Covered:

After 7 days - local ads/reward (with prior approval), after 90 days - pet value up to SI if not found (police intimation required).

Not Covered:

Rewards to family/carers/colluders, ads without prior approval, claims after 91 days.

13. Third Party Liability

Covered:

Protection if your pet causes injury, illness, death, or property damage to a third party. Includes Legal Expenses.

Not Covered:

When liability isn’t established, deliberate acts, prohibited-area incidents (except escape), claims from family or pet professionals at work.

14. Emergency Pet Minding

Covered:

Daily allowance for boarding/caretaker if you/family are hospitalised >4 continuous days (or in case of death). Capped at ₹1,000/day for max 7 days.

Not Covered:

Cases not meeting the hospitalisation condition.

15. Tag Cover

Covered:

Loss/damage to registered electronic tag (depreciation applies).

Not Covered:

Your own-fault damage, manufacturing/warranty failures.

16. Loss of Show Entry Fees

Covered:

Refund if a Kennel-Club-registered pet can’t attend due to covered accident/illness. Capped at 2.5% of Sum Insured.

Not Covered:

Non-medical/unlisted reasons.

17. Road Ambulance

Covered:

Ambulance to/from or between veterinary hospitals (hospital/registered provider, bills required). Up to ₹2,000 per trip.

Not Covered:

Non-registered transport or without bills.
