Ms. PadmajaChunduru is MD & CEO of Indian Bank since September 2018, after a 34 year stint in SBI. At Indian Bank, Ms. Padmaja has successfully steered the amalgamation of Allahabad Bank into Indian Bank amid the Covid challenges
With this merger, Indian Bank doubled in Balance Sheet size and net work and today is among the top 10 banks in the country, with 6000 branches, more than 40000 employees and business of more than Rs.8.5 tn. Post merger, the Bank has quickly moved to re-establish itself as one of the strongest banks in terms of growth, profitability and capital strength.
As Dy. Managing Director, SBI, she headed the Digital Banking vertical. She was the Country Head, US for SBI in New York from 2014 to 2017, overseeing strategic planning, business growth, risk management and compliance. She was involved in critical discussions with US Regulators on the Bank’s operations in the US and was successful in placing the US Operations on a steady growth path.
A Post Graduate in Commerce from Andhra University, Ms. Padmaja joined SBI in 1984 as a Probationary Officer. In a career spanning more than 3 decades, with postings in India and USA, she gained rich experience in Corporate lending and Credit management, Retail operations and Digital Banking, Treasury and International operations.
Ms. Padmaja is a member on the Board of Life Insurance Corporation and the Managing Committee of Indian Banks Association. She is also on the Board of Governors of the Madras School of Economics and was part of the High Level Committee constituted by the Tamil Nadu Government to combat the Covid crisis.
She is Non-executive Chairman of the Universal Sompo General Insurance Company Ltd and a member in the Governing Body of IBPS and NIBM. She is also a member of the Insurance Advisory Committee of IRDAI.
Mr. Sharad Mathur having 23 years of rich experience primarily in General Insurance Industry
He has been employed with SBI General Insurance Company Limited in different roles since its inception, in the year 2009 and finally as Head - Distribution till July 2019, appointed as a KMP by the Board of Directors of the Company.
He also had a specific stint in a new General Insurance project, developing business structure and long-term strategy for a proposed venture. Earlier, he has been employed with ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company Limited, since its inception, in the year 2001, in various regional and national leadership roles. In the past, he has worked with large diversified manufacturing organizations, including, MRF, Bharat Shell and Reliance Retail.
He also served as Chairman of Insurance Awareness Committee & Associated with multiple organizational committees including product development, customer grievances, motor insurance profitability, bancassurance steering and disciplinary & premises Committee.
He holds a Bachelor's degree from Delhi College of Arts and Commerce, University of Delhi; Completed Post-Graduation Program in Management with a specialization in Marketing IIPM; 'Certification Programs in Leadership and Management from Indian School of Business and Harvard.
He has been a key-note speaker and panellist in international insurance summits, being held in parts of Asia, South Africa and Europe.
He has been conferred with 2 prestigious awards such as '50 Most Talented Retail Professionals of India' by CMO Asia and '50 Most Influential Digital Media Professionals' by World Marketing Congress.
Mr Singh has over 21.6 years of experiences in the Marketing field covering Financial Risk, Business Relationship Management, Health Insurance, Operations Management, and Risk Management. He is currently based in Head-office of Universal Sompo General insurance Co. Ltd-Mumbai.
Mr Singh joined Universal Sompo in 2008 as a Business head of USGI-North zone and further relocated to Head Office-Mumbai in 2015 as Chief Marketing Officer of Universal Sompo General Insurance Co. Ltd
Prior to joining Universal Sompo group, Mr. Bisheshwari Singh has worked with IFFCO-Tokio General Insurance Co. Ltd as a SBU Head-Noida.
Mr Bisheshwari is holding Fellowship certificate from Insurance Institute of India.
He is associated with Sompo Japan Insurance Inc., USGI’s biggest shareholder. He joined Sompo Japan (former Yasuda Fire & Marine Insurance) in 1989. He has over 32 years of experiences in the insurance business. 20 years in overseas outside of Japan, in Hong Kong, USA and India. He was on the Board of USGI as a Director from April 2017 till 10th May 2018. He joined USGI on May 2018 as a Deputy CEO. Mr. Hashiba oversees all Marketing, CIO, CRO, Publicity & Advertisement.
As an HR leader, Tanmay has traversed the lanes and highways of the vast Indian HR landscape for more than 28 years. He has considerable contributions in the people management field – in the public and private sectors alike - in the BFSI and non-BFSI domains. As the Head of HR in different organizations in the last 10-plus years, Tanmay has worked with the personal vision of ‘recasting the HR role to that of a facilitator of human well-being and happiness’. In the process, he has been consistently altering the terms of debate of the HR function.
A Post-graduate in Personnel Management and IR from Utkal University, Bhubaneshwar, Tanmay has continuously upgraded himself by undertaking cutting edge courses in HR at XLRI, Jamshedpur and MDI, Gurgaon. He is also a CAIIB and Associate from III.
He was felicitated as one among the 40 Most Talented HR Leaders in India by the World HRD Congress in partnership with ET Now in 2013 besides being conferred the award of being amongst the Most Influential HR Leaders in India (2017) by World HRD Congress in partnership with IPE. He is also in the Times Ascent list of 100 Top HR minds in India (2018) and has been felicitated as Sustainable HR leaders by ET Now (2020).
Mr. Vikas Garg is a fellow of Institute of Actuaries of India and MBA (Finance) from ICFAI University, has been with the Company since July 2018. He has rich experience of over 11 years in Actuarial domain in General Insurance.
In his previous assignment, he was the Appointed Actuary of Liberty General Insurance. He has also worked with Reliance General Insurance Co. Ltd. from May 2007 to September 2014.
Nilesh Mejari is the Chief Financial Officer of Universal Sompo General Insurance since November 2020. In this role he handles responsibilities for the finance, financial compliance and administration. Nilesh carries with him significant experience in insurance, having worked in the Indian insurance space for over 18 years. In his prior roles he has held senior positions in all the three segment within the leading private insurers in India viz Life, General & Reinsurance, having experience in almost all facets of Finance, Business Process re-engineering, Business strategy formulation & execution, Administration and Infrastructure, Risk management and Legal & Compliance.
His last assignment was with a German reinsurer, Munich Re India Ltd as Chief Financial Officer, Chief Compliance Officer and Chief Risk Officer. Nilesh is year 2000 batch Chartered Accountant and a Bachelor of Commerce by qualification.
Mr Karekar has over 17 years of experience in Financial Services, of which over 8 years of experience in Asset Management. In his previous assignment, he was Chief Investment Officer at L&T General Insurance Co. Ltd. from September 2013 – July 2016.
In his position as Chief Investment Officer (CIO), Mr. Karekar leads a team of investment professionals managing funds across asset classes.
He is a Law graduate from University of Mumbai and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management.
Ms. Puneet Kaur is qualified as Research Doctorate-Excellence Management, MBA-Information Systems from FMS Delhi & B.Tech from Delhi College of Engineering. She has rich experience of 23 years in Information Technology Stream.
Qualifications of Mr. Rishin include Certified Insurance Anti-Fraud Professional-III, Fellowship-III, ISO-22301 Business Continuity Lead Implementer, Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Banking & Finance, Post Graduate Diploma in Banking & Finance & B.E.-Industrial Electronics. He has total experience of 14+ years in BFSI sector out of which 3+ years of rich experience is in the Insurance Industry. His last assignment was with Bharti AXA Life Insurance Ltd. as Chief Risk Officer. Prior to that he was also associated with Edelweiss General Insurance, Edelweiss Financial Services, Ace Derivative and Commodity Ltd, National Commodity & Derivative Exchange Limited and Dena Bank.
His Areas of expertise include Risk Management across BFSI, Internal Controls, Stakeholder Management, Strategic Planning, Business Continuity Plan, Product Risk Management, Risk Transformation, Team Building & Leadership, Managing Ambiguity, Exception handling & Fraud Risk Management.
Mr. Tripathi is ICSI and Bachelor of General Law (BGL). He has overall 20+ years of experience, out of which 17 years is in Insurance domain. His last assignment was with SBI General Insurance as Head-Compliance, Legal & Company Secretary. Prior to that, he was associated with Aegon Life Insurance, HDFC Standard Life Insurance.
Ms. Aarti Kamath is a Fellow Company Secretary, Fellow of the Insurance Institute of India and a Law Graduate. She has over 18 years of rich experience, having worked in Life Insurance, General Insurance and Composite Insurance Broking.
Her last assignment was with Marsh India Insurance Brokers Pvt. Ltd. as EVP Legal, Compliance and Public Affairs. Nanda Sambrani is a Science Graduate and a Fellow of Insurance Institute of India. She has over 30 years of rich and varied experience in almost all the aspects of GI, including 13 years of PSU experience and 18 years with private sector. She has headed various diverse role such as Motor Underwriting, Commercial Claims, Enterprise Risk Management (As CRO handling ERM/Internal Audit/Info and Cybersecurity) in her previous stint of 18 years with Reliance General Insurance. She has been instrumental in getting ISO 31000 Assurance for her organization. Various rewards and recognitions for the work in the domains of ERM and Cybersecurity, were received by the organization and by her during her tenure.
