Yes, Hospitalization expenses due to Corona Virus (COVID-19) are covered subject to Policy terms & conditions. There is no exclusion in our health policies for COVID-19 or any other pandemics, unless in case of policies covering specific named illnesses only. In the unfortunate event any our customers require admission and treatment in a hospital, the claim is admissible subject to other policy Terms & Conditions.
For Covid specific policies, 14 days waiting period is applicable. The retail health policies taken a new have a 30-day waiting period for all illnesses. In case of renewal or portability, the 30-day waiting period would not apply.
If the diagnostic test is done as part of the inpatient treatment, it is covered. In case there is any admission, expenses related to pre and post hospitalization expenses are also payable subject to the time periods in your policy.
If your policy covers OPD expenses, then the diagnostic test is payable even if there is no admission.
In case of inpatient treatment, all admissible expenses related to the treatment including room rent, ICU charges, consultation charges, diagnostic tests, medicines and consumables are payable subject to policy terms and conditions. However, non payable expenses are not covered as per policy terms and conditions.
Yes, they are covered, Experimental drugs are not covered as per policy Terms & conditions. However, if usage of drug is authorized as per ICMR guidelines/ Government of India than the same would be covered subject to other terms and conditions
Our Complete Heallthcare Insurance product has a consumable cover which automatically covers these expenses, subject to add on opted by Insured and limits available. Similarly, if this cover is available in the Product, then consumables are covered.
For Health Policies in India, the treatment should be taken in India and the mode or place of contracting disease has no bearing on the admissibility of a claim.

n case you are still abroad and have a valid overseas travel policy from us, treatment in the country you have travelled to and declared under the policy, will be covered subject to other terms and conditions.

Insured will have to settle the bills directly at Hospital & after discharge need to submit all the bills in original to us for reimbursement within 30 days of discharge from the Hospital.
