Please remember that if the survey is time barred by the shipping company, your claim could stand prejudiced. <li>Obtain damage certificate/open delivery certificate/landing remarks certificate from carriers/ port trust/ airlines/ transporter etc.</li> <li>In case of damage due to natural calamities like storm, floods, lightning, obtain the meteorological report for the weather broadcast at the time of disaster.</li> <li>Do not dispose the damaged property until advised by the surveyor or Insurance Company.</li> </ul> <br /> <br /> <b>CLAIMS PROCEDURE</b> <br /> <p> All inland transit claims shall be settled in India and claims on export policies shall be settled by the Claim Settling Agents to the overseas Consignee in the currency of the Policy. In view of a third party usually involved in happening of a Marine loss, the transportation documents like Bills of Lading, Airway Bill, Transport Receipts etc needs to be submitted in original. </p> <p> A list of indicative documents for various modes of transits is produced hereunder for easy reference, however, this list is only generic and depending on the cause and extent of loss, additional documents, if any, shall be requested by us.
